Colloquium 2011


Programme   Présentation des conférenciers
The International Network on the Disability Creation Process (INDCP) will hold, on April 7, 2011 its annual colloquium under the theme " Participation in educational life, learnings, and transitions to adult life ". This event will take place at the Pavillon Coeur des Sciences (175, av. du Président-Kennedy, Montréal, CANADA, H2X 0A3) de l'Université du Québec à Montréal (UQAM).

The « Participation in educational life, learnings and transitions to adult life » colloquium will bring together teachers, parents of children with disabilities, professionals, policy makers, and disability advocacy leaders interested in discussing inclusive education principles, best practices in terms of welcoming, integration, and support of Students with Handicaps, Social Maladjustments or Learning Difficulties, as well as collaborations and partnerships still to be developed for learning communities to transcend school and classroom walls. Speakers will be invited to share their knowledge and success stories of educational integration of youth and adult with disabilities. They will discuss how the issue of their participation to educational life is fundamental for them to engage in lifelong learning to benefit from economic and technological progress; known as knowledge society, as well as the others.

Three themes will be explored during the « Participation to educational life, learnings, and transitions to adult life» colloquium:

Training, equipping, and preparing educational environments: inclusive education theories and practices
Welcoming, integration, and support of Students with Handicaps, Social Maladjustments or Learning Difficulties: ensuring smooth transitions and continuity of services
Establishing living learning communities: issues and partnerships between stakeholders
